Welcome to the Malheur Council on Aging & Community Services (MCOACS) Senior Services Page! We are proud to be the designated Area Agency on Aging (AAA) for Malheur County. Our mission is to support seniors in living healthy, fulfilling, and independent lives, and we've been dedicated to this cause since we were founded in October 1975 as a private, non-profit organization.
Since 1981, MCOACS has been providing services under Title IIIB of the Older Americans Act, as well as through Oregon’s state-funded Oregon Project Independence (OPI) program. These programs help ensure that seniors in Malheur County have the support they need, whether at home or within the community.
We are committed to improving the quality of life for seniors and their caregivers by offering a wide range of services.
Our services include:
- Case Management: Personalized support to help navigate available services and address individual needs.
- Nutrition Services: Healthy meal options to support seniors' wellbeing.
- In-Home Supports: Assistance with activities of daily living, making it easier for seniors to stay in their homes.
- Socialization: Opportunities to stay connected with others, promoting mental and emotional health.
- Information & Referrals: Guidance to connect seniors and caregivers with other community resources.
- Caregiver Support: Helping those who care for seniors with resources, respite, and education.
- Limited Home Modifications: Modifications to ensure homes are safe and accessible.
- Education & Training: Empowering seniors and caregivers with useful knowledge and skills.
