SRT – Malheur Express City of Ontario Route: Monday – Friday, 6am – 6pm

SRT – Malheur Express City of Ontario routed service has connections with Payette County, Idaho at the Walmart transfer stop and the nearby cities of Vale and Nyssa, Oregon at Malheur Council on Aging office location. The bus starts on the hour from the Walmart in Ontario.

BUS PASSES  Idaho bus passes will be accepted in Oregon and Oregon bus passes will be accepted in Idaho.

ONE-WAY FARES  Have your exact fare ready when boarding the bus. Bus operators do not carry change. Please wait for departing passengers before you board.
HOLIDAYS Buses do not operate on weekends or on the following holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day and Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Veterans Day.

WHEELCHAIR LIFTS All buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts. If you require the use of a wheelchair lift, our trained drivers will assist you in getting on and off the bus.

BIKE AND RIDE SRT-Malheur Express City of Ontario routed service buses are equipped with bicycle racks. Riders are responsible for loading and unloading their own bikes. If the rack is full you will need to wait for the next bus.

American Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA)

Public entities that operate fixed route transportation services for the general public are required by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations implementing the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) to provide ADA complementary paratransit service for persons who, because of their disability, are unable to use the fixed route system. (49 CFR Parts 27, 37, and 38)

Malheur Express provides ADA complementary paratransit for Snake River Access (Paratransit service) for persons who, because of their disability, are unable to use the fixed route system.

MCOA&CS provides ADA complementary paratransit (Snake River Access) curb-to-curb (door-to-vehicle assistance accommodations) transportation services is available for eligible individuals whose trip begins and ends within 3/4 mile of the fixed Snake River Transit bus route.

Individuals with disabilities can apply for Snake River Transit Access (Paratransit Services). You can call (541) 881-1000 for assistance to complete the application.

Visitors are eligible to participate for at least 21 days in a 365- day period under the following circumstances:

  • Individuals with ADA paratransit eligibility certification from another transit system;
  • Individuals with proof of out-of-town residency (proof of disability may also be required if not apparent).

 

***The service hours and days of Snake River Access Paratransit Service are 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
*****Eligible Individuals who need door-to-vehicle assistance must call to request service the day (24 hours) before the ride is needed. No same day requests for door-to-vehicle service are available at this time.
The one-way ADA complementary paratransit fare within 3/4 miles of the fixed route is $2.00. For an additional fare, Malheur Express also offers ADA complementary paratransit beyond the required service area.
Snake River Access is a shared-ride service and is not a taxi.

  • Adult (18-54) $1.00 fare or $30.00 monthly
  • Youth (6-17) $0.75 fare or $20.00 monthly
  • Seniors & Disabled $0.50 fare or $15.00 monthly
  • Children five years and under ride free
