A Gift of Time Crafts

This weekend has been so wonderful. I feel like I have been recharged. I have got a lot of wonderful ideas that are so good for me and my family.”

A Gift of Time is a weekend retreat designed with you in mind!

Join others in similar situations for self-renewal, education and a break from the stress at home. Attendees have a chance to relax, meet new people and perhaps reconnect with old friends, network with others like themselves, attend educational seminars, listen to music, visit resource tables and enjoy wonderful meals all in a delightfully peaceful setting.

This annual statewide weekend break is for the following unpaid family caregivers:

  • Caregiver of any age caring for someone 60 years old or older;
  • Caregiver of any age caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or other dementing disease;
  • A grandparent, great grandparent or relative 55 or older caring for grandchildren or kin under 19 years of age;
  • Parent or relative 60 years and older caring for disabled adult child or kin.

A Gift of Time event has occurred since 2003. The three-day weekend contains a variety of events

  • Educational Presentations
  • Resource Fair
  • Socials
  • Relaxation Activities
  • Or doing nothing at all!

A valuable aspect of A Gift of Time experience is the friendships that develop as the caregivers ‘share the caring’.  Some attendees have never met another caregiver or grandparent who have such similar situations at home and for the first time they find they are not alone. Registrations are now being accepted for the 2016 Gift of Time Retreat.
